Guidelines for Teaching and Learning Agricultural Activities by Participating in Secondary School, Benjalak Pittaya School, Benchalak District, Sisaket Province อานุภาพ ศรีบุญเรือง และ ไกรเลิศ ทวีกุล

Abstract

The study was aimed to investigate 1) teaching and learning conditions in agriculture classes, 2) opinions of school’s stakeholders on teaching and learning conditions of agriculture classes, and 3) guidelines to develop teaching and learning activities in agriculture classes in secondary schools by participating in such classes of Benjalak Pittaya school, Benchalak district, Sisaket province. The study was conducted with mixed methods. The data were collected from the population of 100 people during January - October 2021 through interviews and community oratory stage, at which employed Appreciation Influence Control: AIC. The findings showed that only few students would enroll in agriculture classes since they were not aware of the importance of agriculture. Moreover, the students found the agriculture-related activities were not interesting. The opinions on the participation in teaching and learning activities in agriculture classes were at a moderate level by one aspect: teaching and learning agriculture. Another three aspects of the opinion were at a low level: the problems of participating in teaching and learning agriculture, teaching and learning plan, and guidelines to develop teaching and learning activities in agriculture classes. For the development guidelines, it was suggested that they incorporated community-participation activities into agriculture classes. According to AIC criterion, the projects or activities in which the students were interested in 1) planting herbs, 2) dairy farming cow cattle, and 3) planting seasonal fruits.
