Insect pests attack sorghum (Sorghum bicolor l. moench) in the coastal region of Bengkulu, Indonesia
Main Article Content
Abstract
The results showed that the insect pests attack on cultivated sorghum varieties were Spodoptera frugiperda, Peregrinus maidis, Rhopalosiphum maidis, Valanga nigricornis, Ostrinia furnacalis, Helicoperva armigera, and Sitophilus sp. Amongst the sorghum varieties cultivated, the Numbu variety was more resistant to Spodoptera frugiperda attack, but susceptible to Ostrinia furnacalis, Ketan variety was resistant to Valanga nigricornis, and Suri was susceptible to Helicoperva armigera attack. The highest yield loss by Sitophilus zeamais was found in the Numbu variety, and the lowest was in Suri 4 and Ketan.
