Publication Ethics

Multidisciplinary Journal of Shinawatra University is committed to maintaining ethical standards in the publication of articles. Therefore, it has established best practices and ethical guidelines for publication, outlining the roles and responsibilities of three groups: Editor, Author, and Reviewer. These guidelines are detailed as follows:

Roles and Responsibilities of the Editor:

  1. The editor is responsible for carrying out the journal's objectives and strictly adhering to the journal's procedures and processes.
  2. The editor reviews and examines all submitted articles for publication, considering their alignment with the journal's objectives and scope, and checking their quality during the pre-publication evaluation process.
  3. The editor must evaluate articles based on sound academic reasoning, free from bias towards the article and the author based on race, gender, religion, culture, politics, or affiliation.
  4. The editor checks articles for plagiarism. If plagiarism is discovered during the evaluation process, the editor must stop the evaluation and contact the original author immediately for clarification before deciding on acceptance or rejection of the article for publication.
  5. The editor must have no conflict of interest with the authors or reviewers, and must not use the articles or the journal for commercial purposes or as their own academic work.
  6. The editor must not alter or change the content of articles or reviewer evaluations. This includes not blocking or interfering with the exchange of information between experts and authors.
  7. The editor must maintain the journal's standards and continuously improve and develop the journal to ensure its quality, timeliness, and international standards.

Responsibilities of Authors:

  1. The author's work must be original and not previously published or disseminated elsewhere, nor be under consideration for publication by any other publication.
  2. The content of the article must align with the objectives of the Multidisciplinary Journal of Shinawatra University.
  3. Authors must not plagiarize the work of others and must always provide citations when presenting or referencing the work of others in their own article.
  4. All authors whose names appear in the article must be genuine contributors to this academic work.
  5. Authors must adapt their articles to the format and font size of the journal's template and verify the accuracy of the reference list in terms of both format and content.
  6. Authors must agree to transfer copyright to the Shinawatra University Interdisciplinary Journal before publication. They shall not disseminate or publish the work elsewhere after it has been published in the Multidisciplinary Journal of Shinawatra University.
  7. In cases where the author's academic work involves research and experiments on humans or laboratory animals, and such experiments may affect the dignity, rights, safety, and well-being of individuals, the author must adhere to ethical principles and strictly comply with all relevant laws and regulations. This includes obtaining informed consent before collecting data or providing relevant documents, such as a certificate from the Human or Animal Research Ethics Committee, in every instance.
  8. Authors must disclose the source of funding for their academic work.

Roles and Responsibilities of Peer Reviewers:

  1. Peer reviewers must prioritize the quality of the article, considering it under academic principles and reasoning without bias or personal opinions, and without any conflict of interest with the author.
  2. Peer reviewers must not seek personal gain from the academic work they have reviewed.
  3. Peer reviewers must be aware of their own expertise and genuine understanding of the content of the academic work being reviewed.
  4. If a peer reviewer discovers that an article being reviewed is plagiarized, they must immediately inform the editor.
  5. Peer reviewers must adhere to the review deadline and not disclose information about the article to unrelated parties.
