Social Support, Health Belief and Diabetes Prevention among People Bang Len District, Nakhon Pathom Province

The objectives of this research study were to 1) the level of diabetes prevention among people 2) the correlation between personal factors, social support and health belief with diabetes prevention among people and 3) the factor affecting to diabetes prevention among people. The sample group consisted of 381 people in Bang Len District, Nakhon Pathom Province. Selected by simple random sampling. Data were collected by questionnaires and analyzed by descriptive statistics, Chi-square, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression. The objectives test results showed that 1) the diabetes prevention among people was at the moderate level (x ̅ = 74.76) 2) the social support factor and health belief factor were correlated with diabetes prevention among people and 3) the social support factor and health belief factor can explain variations in diabetes prevention among people 32%. (Adjusted R2 = 0.32, p-value <0.05). Additionally, the development approach is that relevant agencies can use the research results to plan to promote social support and create health beliefs so that people can continue to prevent diabetes, which will result in a decrease in the rate of diabetes and increase the health people.
