This study aimed to investigate social media usage behavior for tourism and to compare the differences in demographic factors influencing such behavior among Generation Z. The study focused on 310 undergraduate students enrolled in the Bachelor of Business Administration Program in Tourism, Hotel, and Event Management, Faculty of Service Industry, Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, as well as inferential statistics, namely the Independent Samples t-test and One-Way ANOVA, at a significance level of 0.05. The findings revealed that most respondents used social media for tourism-related purposes between 6:01 p.m. and 12:00 a.m., accessed social media five or more times per day, spent more than four hours per day on social media, and preferred TikTok as their primary platform. Overall, social media usage behavior for tourism was found to be at the highest level. Among the dimensions examined, perceived tourism benefits recorded the highest mean score, followed by information exposure, experience sharing and exposure, and information seeking, respectively. The hypothesis testing results indicated that gender and year of study significantly influenced social media usage behavior for tourism across all dimensions. In contrast, age and average monthly income showed statistically significant differences only in the dimension of perceived tourism benefits at the 0.05 level of significance.
